I went to Philadelphia last weekend. It was live. Now I am back in San Francisco, alive. I also spent a relatively long amount of time at Midway in Chicago. |

McCain pointed out her recent support of a bill to help build a museum to commemorate the Woodstock concert. "I am sure it was a cultural and pharmaceutical event," McCain said, adding that he was not there. "I was tied up at the time." His line - a reference to his status as a prisoner of war at the time - drew a standing ovation, and even his opponents gave him a hearty round of applause. |

I launched a new blog, called Out of Control Awesome! to post works of fiction. I'll still use this blog for bad poetry and weird links and anecdotes, but the new one will focus on vaguely more "literary" things... kind of? I guess this is all an experiment anyway...

They said that oblivion was their ruling passion. They wanted to reinvent everything each day; to become the masters of their own lives. Just as we do not judge an individual by what he thinks about himself, we cannot judge such a period of transformation by its own consciousness. On the contrary, this consciousness must be understood as reflecting the contradictions of material life, the conflict between social conditions and the forces of social production.

I appreciate that they are going out, if not on top-- then with something new, untried. It might go wrong. But only the audience will assume the risk.

But scientific detectives also find that there are no two grains of sand absolutely identical, no two hands with the same fingerprints, no two typewriters with the same type, no two revolvers that scratch their bullets with the same striations.

There was a place where he thought he should lie. it was stuck somewhere between his certitude and lack of that very same certitude that drove him through his life. He knew he should be there. He was also almost completely positive that he was unsure as to what "there" would be. "What there?" he thought. "I thought there was no there there!" Rolling around in laughter as to his new witticism, the guy took down his belt buckle a notch or two and thought about what it might mean to be somewhere lost and without a home. He thought this wearily and with not a little bit of quixotic seriousness. If he was more sure he could figure it out. Exactly where did he stand? With these questions rolling around his head, he walked out of the park pulling his drawers up to where they should have been. After all, this guy's in public, he oughta act decent if he is gonna be hanging around. The sheer absurdity of what he had done was at the forefront of his mind as he stumbled back onto the sidewalk. |

Being over here in mid-Wilshire with Thomas has been a really inspiring time. He is such a great guy. Seeing him and Luigi together, great guys from childhood to now I am sure. Zach and this guy I just met Darren are pretty awesome too. Zach was supposed to meet us at this place when Kit came over, but she never came over. Now I am here. I made the booyah! video Thomas's homepage. Well, the Dahl is ready so I had better be going. |

Hope lives in unexpected places. Hope is a home, but hope is transient. Hope is to romance what God is to religion. I don't believe in God.
